Scope of Work

Bedroom Entrance Framing, Door Installation & Finishing

Project Location: Second Floor Bedroom Entrance

Work Description

• Build a new wood-framed wall section within the existing approximately 48-inch-wide opening.
• Modify and frame the opening to accommodate the client's 32-inch interior door.
• Install all required wall studs, header, blocking, and framing components to create a structurally sound doorway.
• Ensure the new framing is properly plumb, level, and securely fastened.

Door Installation

• Install the owner's supplied 32-inch interior door.
• Install and secure the door jamb and door frame.
• Shim and adjust the door for proper alignment and smooth operation.
• Install door hinges and make all necessary adjustments.
• Verify proper door swing, clearance, and closing operation.

Lockset Installation

• Install the owner's supplied door handle and lockset.
• Test all locking and operating functions.

Drywall Installation

• Install drywall on both sides of the newly framed wall section.
• Cut and fit drywall as needed to match existing conditions.
• Secure drywall and prepare surfaces for finishing.

Drywall Finishing

• Apply drywall tape to all joints and seams.
• Apply multiple coats of joint compound (spackle/mud).
• Sand between coats as required.
• Create a smooth, paint-ready finish.
• Blend new work into adjacent existing surfaces.

Painting

• Spot-prime repaired and newly installed drywall surfaces.
• Apply finish paint to all newly constructed wall areas.
• Touch up adjacent areas affected by installation as needed.
• Leave a clean and uniform appearance.

Final Completion

• Perform final adjustment of door and hardware.
• Remove construction debris generated during installation.
• Clean work area upon completion.
• Deliver a fully functional, finished doorway with complete drywall, paint, door hardware, and lock installation.

• Enmarcar una apertura existente de aproximadamente 48" de ancho x 8' de alto.
• Reducirla para una puerta prehung de 32" que el cliente ya tiene.
• Instalar estructura de 2x4.
• Instalar la puerta.

• Cinta, masilla y lijado.
